Privacy Policy
Last updated August 5, 2026
Short version: The Aircraft Factory app keeps your build log on your own devices and in your own iCloud account — it has no accounts, runs no servers that hold your data, and collects nothing about you. This website is separate: like most websites, it collects standard, non-sensitive usage analytics. We never sell, rent, or trade your information.
Who we are
Aircraft Factory is a native macOS app, with a free iPhone capture companion (“AF Capture”), published by Jamlabs (“we”, “us”). This policy covers both the app and this website (the pages you’re reading now). The key distinction: the website collects some data; the app does not.
This website
Like most websites, this site collects standard, non-sensitive usage information — such as pages visited, approximate region, browser and device type, and referring links — to understand traffic and improve the site. If you contact us or submit a form, we receive whatever you choose to send (for example, your email address). We do not sell this information or use it to build advertising profiles.
The app
The app is different: it collects nothing about you. The content you create — build entries, hours, phases and sections, photos, captions, contributor names, and squawks — is stored locally on your Mac. We do not operate accounts, and we do not run a backend that receives or stores your builds.
- The app does not collect your name, email address, or contact details.
- It contains no third-party advertising or analytics-tracking SDKs.
- It does not create a profile of you or share information with advertisers.
iCloud sync
If you are signed into iCloud, your build data syncs across your Apple devices through your private iCloud account, using Apple’s iCloud/CloudKit services. That data is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy and is not accessible to us. If you are not signed into iCloud, Aircraft Factory works fully local and nothing leaves your device.
Photos and camera
The app accesses your Photos library or camera only when you choose to add or capture a photo. Those images are stored alongside the rest of your build data on your devices and, where enabled, in your iCloud.
Purchases
Licenses and build slots are sold as one-time purchases through the Apple App Store. Apple processes the transaction — we never receive your payment card details. Apple may provide us with aggregated, non-identifying sales information.
Backups you export
Any backup you export (a single .afbackup file, or the developer export of library.json plus your photo files) is written to a location you choose and is yours to control. We never receive a copy.
Data retention and deletion
You control your data. Deleting a build moves it to a 30-day Recently Deleted area; removing it from there deletes it from your devices and iCloud. Uninstalling the app removes its local data from that Mac.
Children
Aircraft Factory is a tool for aircraft builders and is not directed at children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the revised policy.
